My ss*bb story is done and sent away.

The next chapter of 100 Candles is done and put out for teh publix. [edit: I guess it would help if I linked to the right thing, good grief]

And now there is a LiveJournal feed for that too.

*thud*

[100 Candles] this may be the first action scene I’ve ever written with the Benny Hill theme on repeat

Chapter 5 is up. Also some silly little Gaia avatar thingies.

In conclusion:

Ray and friends

Seriously, what the hell

Dear ss*bb story,

Why the hell are you coming out all second-person and shit? Who authorized this? I want to see it in writing.

Love,
Me

There really is a pattern in the way IKEA names their stuff.

The Black Beast has a new power supply and is feeling much better. I keep looking at it out the corner of my eye, waiting for the motherboard to melt into a puddle of smoldering goop, but I am sure I’m just being silly.

Re: Your selection of power supplies, or lack thereof, whose prices start at $80

I really didn’t want to have to go all the way out to Fry’s. Please refer to this ytmnd for my thoughts on this matter.

Computers hate me :(

  • Posted on January 14, 2008 at 11:15 am

So not even a week after I get the laptop back from its brain transplant, what happens?

THE POWER SUPPLY ON THE DESKTOP BLOWS OUT, THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS

And of course I hadn’t put Internet shit back on the laptop yet. And of course I’m not going to have time to get out and get a new power supply until the weekend–and that’s assuming the power supply didn’t take anything with it. Oh God I hope it didn’t take anything with it, I really cannot afford to rebuild this computer right now, we are going to Vegas next month, I need that money for Blue Man Group tickets and feeding the Tabasco slot machine. D:

So last night I sat in the bedroom, played Bejeweled, wrote, and watched half of my wonderful Best Buy find.

See, I’ve been in the mood for some good old J-horror lately, for stylistic inspiration or some shit. And Best Buy had fuckall in the way of Japanese horror movies. But just when I was about to give up and go look at PSP games, I noticed this on the bottom shelf.

A box set of four DVDs, each containing about fifteen five-minute shorts. $20. OH HELL YES.

So I grabbed it and took it home and watched the first two discs last night. Oh God, it’s wonderful. It’s so wonderful. It is exactly what I didn’t know I wanted. If you are looking for serious drama, tightly-woven plots, or great acting? These are not for you. If you just want some creepy little bite-sized nuggets of what the fuck is that!?, you need this like oxygen. I don’t think any of the bits I’ve seen yet have outright scared the shit out of me, but most of them are creepy and kind of surreal, and a few are just hilarious. There’s not a whole lot of plot you can cram into five minutes, so although there’s the occasional multi-part story, most of the time it boils down to “here, this creepy shit is happening, we don’t know what the fuck either, don’t ask, just enjoy it.”

I’ll watch the rest tonight, and when I get the Black Beast running again I might try and rip some of the best ones and YouTube them or something, I don’t know.

I just made a small donation here. It wasn’t much, but maybe it’ll help someone out.

I would think it very cool if those of you waving icons and banners that say “I SUPPORT THE WGA STRIKE” and suchlike would take a moment to do likewise. After all, the people this money is going to help are the ones the strike is hurting the most.

If you are a striking writer and you have not ponied up a cent to this fund, please get the fuck off my planet.

A tiny bit of writing

I wrote a wee dentist horror story. That would be a wee horror story about a dentist, not a horror story about a wee dentist.

…although the image of redcaps playing with dental tools does have a certain something, doesn’t it?
